Kwibuka Women’s T20: Lilian Ude’s fierce bowling humble Rwanda female cricket

The hot rivalry between Nigeria and Rwanda’s female cricket teams continued Tuesday, as the Nigerian Female Yellow Greens defeated Rwanda by 32 runs to maintain 4th position above Kenya in Kigali.

Nigeria won the toss and batted first with Salome Sunday rising up to the rivalry with 29 runs off 12 balls before being dismissed by Rwanda captain, Marie Diane’s. Salome’s strike pushed Nigeria’s tally to 105 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs (104/5).

During second inning, Nigeria’s medium-pace bowler, Lilian Ude’s clinical attack dismissed 6 Rwandan batters therefore slowing down Rwanda’s chase to 72 runs, all out in 19 overs. Ude’s brilliant effort and her teammates secured an emphatic victory for Nigeria.

Wednesday’s game on 5th June 2024 will feature Zimbabwe against Nigeria and Lilian Ude will play with the confidence of a Player of the Match award winner against host Rwanda.
