The last has yet to be heard on coach Antonio Conte and Victor Osimhen after the Napoli coach took another jibe at the Super Eagles striker.
Conte was very clear from his first day at Napoli that the team comes before the individual player.
And without making any particular reference to Osimhen himself, the former Chelsea boss again stated that he does not work with egoistic and selfish players.
“The most important thing is we (the team), egoistic and selfish players must go,” Conte restated.
“With the individual player, you don’t go anywhere, it’s the team that get you to win or lose.
“It’s obvious that in a team you have talented players and you have to improve them, but always for the good of the team.
“You have to eliminate the players who work with ego because I don’t get along with them.”
Corriere dello Sport has already reported that had Osimhen not gone on loan to Galatasaray, Conte would not have re-instated him to the Napoli squad for this season so as not to send a wrong signal to the rest of the team.
