Nigeria’s newest football club, Godswill Akpabio United FC, is set to penetrate Nigeria’s National League football with attack-conscious players.

This revelation was gathered from the sidelines as the team continued its screening for the 7th day at Uyo Township Stadium on Wednesday evening.

While the sponsors of Godswill Akpabio United FC are focused on developing youthful football talents, the team is also out to produce top goal scorers that Nigeria is in dire need of.

“The club will be modeled after Manchester City style of football,” a close source said. From the crop of players invited to the screening, it was obvious that the technical team was looking for young players who could control the ball and dominate the field against their opponents.

Former Dakkada FC and Akwa United captain Aniekan Ekpe confirmed that “Akpabio United FC is poised to change the landscape of Nigeria football in a short period.
Nigerians should expect good football. The team will produce in large quantity, goal scorers that Nigeria club sides are currently lacking.”

Can this aspiration of having Pep Guardiola’s possessive and winning style of football become possible in Africa’s most populated country? The facility and fund seem not to be a hindrance as far as the club name and Uyo are concerned. But how much of experience could
Coach Udoh and Coach Lawrence have?

While some fans have already attributed the two coaches to having the capacity to produce these top finishers, the commencement of Nigeria National League football will tell much about Godswill Akpabio United FC.
