According to reports, the players are demanding payment of outstanding allowances owed from the AFCON 2025 qualification campaign. They are also seeking clarity from officials on the exact amount they are expected to earn during the tournament.

The development has raised concerns within the Ugandan football camp as preparations intensify for the continental showpiece. Sources indicated that the standoff prompted the intervention of the President of the Uganda Football Association (FUFA), David Magogo, who has reportedly stepped in to resolve the matter and restore calm within the team.

Uganda is scheduled to begin its AFCON 2025 campaign on Tuesday against former champions Tunisia, also known as the Carthage Eagles, in Fès.

The Cranes have been drawn into a competitive Group C, where they will also face three-time champions Nigeria and regional rivals Tanzania.

AFCON 2025 will be hosted by Morocco from December 21 to January 18, with teams expected to be in peak condition as they battle for continental glory.
