Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé has been crowned winner of the European Golden Boot for the 2024/2025 football season, following an outstanding debut campaign with the Spanish giants.
The prestigious award, presented annually to the top goal scorer across Europe’s domestic leagues, is determined through a weighted points system that rewards goals scored in the continent’s most competitive divisions.
Mbappé netted 31 goals in La Liga last season, a feat that saw him finish ahead of other top marksmen across Europe and secure the honour for the first time in his career.
“It’s a pleasure for me to win the Golden Boot,” Mbappé said after receiving the award on Friday.
“It’s an important moment for me — the first time I win this prize. It means a lot to me as a forward.”
The French international, who joined Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, has continued his remarkable form into the new season, already scoring 11 goals in La Liga and five in the UEFA Champions League.
Mbappé’s consistency in front of goal has helped Los Blancos maintain their position at the top of the Spanish league and reinforced his status as one of the most prolific forwards in world football.
