Turkish giants Galatasaray have lauded Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen as the “best striker in the world” after his stunning performance in their 3-1 victory over Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Osimhen, who joined the Istanbul club earlier this season, scored twice in the first half to put Galatasaray in firm control of the encounter.

The Super Eagles star opened the scoring in the third minute, latching onto a precise through pass from Mario Lemina before calmly slotting home. He added a second in the 33rd minute, capitalizing on a defensive blunder to double Galatasaray’s lead.

Yunus Akgün extended the advantage with a third goal in the 60th minute, while Andreas Helmersen pulled one back for Bodo/Glimt in the 74th minute.

Osimhen’s double took his Champions League goal tally to 11, and remarkably, it was his seventh consecutive European match with a goal — setting a new record for Galatasaray.

The club celebrated his feat on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, posting a photo of the striker in action with the caption: “Best striker in the world.”

Osimhen’s blistering form continues to earn him plaudits from fans and pundits alike, reinforcing his reputation as one of Europe’s most lethal forwards.

The 26-year-old is expected to play a key role as Galatasaray aim to progress further in the Champions League and challenge for domestic honours this season.
