Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has been named Barnsley’s Player of the Month for January, the League One club announced on Friday.
In a post on their official X account, Barnsley congratulated the 26-year-old for his standout performances.
“Congratulations to Kelechi Nwakali for being named @CopierSystems January Player of the Month,” the club wrote.
Nwakali made three league appearances for the Reds during the month and has been a key figure in Darrell Clarke’s squad. His latest accolade comes after winning Barnsley’s Goal of the Month for December.
So far this season, the former Golden Eaglets star has made 13 league appearances, scoring once.
