Umar, who recently won the NNL Player of the Month award for January, emphasized that the ultimate target remains gaining promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season.
Speaking after receiving his award at the NNL Secretariat in Wuse, Abuja, the 18-year-old striker attributed his success to teamwork and pledged to push for more victories.
“As the MVP and highest goal scorer, I am very happy to receive these awards. I thank the NNL and, most importantly, my teammates because this wouldn’t have been possible without them,” Umar said.
The young forward further stated his determination to help Kebbi United qualify for the Super 8 playoffs and secure a place in the NPFL.
“These awards have truly motivated me, and I am determined to do my best. This is just the beginning of great things to come. Please pray for me,” he added.
Kebbi United will be hoping to maintain their strong form as they push for a spot in the championship playoffs and a shot at promotion to Nigeria’s top-flight league.
