The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has called on youths and other Nigerians to invest their resources and talents in sports

Jatau made the call on Wednesday in Lafia, when he received the 2024 Most Sporting House of Assembly Speaker Award..
The award was given to him by Golden Sport Limited, ECOWAS in collaboration with its Nigeria counterpart, Federation of Youths Soccer Clubs (FEYSOC) Nigeria.
According to the speaker, the award would spur him to do more in the promotion of sporting activities and to provide an all-inclusive leadership in the state.
The speaker appreciated the award organisers for finding him worthy and pledged to do more to support sporting activities.
He said sports promote unity and peace, and bring people of different religions and diverse interests together.
” Sports is a veritable tool for national development. It keeps the youth away from social vices and other forms of criminality.
“Sports also create job opportunities for our teeming youths as well as unite them irrespective of their affiliations, ” he said.
Jatau said that in 2024, he organised a football competition in his constituency to promote love, unity, and togetherness among his people.
He said that young talents discovered during the competition will participate in a tournament in Ghana very soon.
Speaking, the Coordinator, Golden Sport Limited, ECOWAS, Victor Fatodu and the Chairman FEYSOC, Nigeria, Mr Coach Bawa said that the speaker was carefully chosen for the award.
According to them, he was chosen due to his love, passion and outstanding contributions to the development of sporting activities in the state.
The duo said that Jatau was also picked among many others considering his support to the youths in the area of sporting activities among others. (NAN)
