Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has described his team’s crucial Champions League group-stage clash against Club Brugge as an “opportunity” rather than a problem.

City, currently 25th in the 36-team league, are two points outside the knockout phase play-off spots. A win at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday is essential to avoid group-stage elimination.

“The situation is clear: we have to win, or we will not continue,” Guardiola said. “But it’s not a problem—it’s an opportunity. We want the chance to play two more games and reach the next stages.”

Injury Boost
City has been bolstered by the return of midfielder Oscar Bobb, who is back in contention after five months out with a leg injury.

Guardiola, a three-time Champions League-winning manager, is treating the Brugge game as a do-or-die encounter.

“These types of games, I’ve played many times,” he explained. “Sooner or later, you face situations where if you win, you advance; if you lose, you go out. We’re here because we haven’t been good enough, but we’ve faced this before.”

City aims to keep their Champions League hopes alive, with victory being the only path forward.
