Jomel Warrican delivered a stunning performance with match figures of 9-70 to help West Indies secure a historic 120-run victory over Pakistan in the second Test in Multan, leveling the two-match series 1-1.
The left-arm spinner took 5-27 in the second innings as Pakistan collapsed to 133 all out within an hour on day three, chasing a target of 254. This marked West Indies’ first Test win on Pakistani soil since November 1990 in Faisalabad.
Early Breakthroughs Set the Tone
Pakistan, resuming on 76-4, lost Saud Shakeel in the opening over of the day, caught by Kavem Hodge off Kevin Sinclair for 13. Nightwatcher Kashif Ali followed soon after, bowled by Warrican for one, exposing the tail.
Muhammad Rizwan (25) and Salman Ali Agha (15) offered brief resistance before both fell to Warrican’s relentless spin, reducing Pakistan to 128-8.
Clinical Finish
Noman Ali was dismissed by Gudakesh Motie, and Warrican fittingly ended the match by bowling Sajid Khan, sealing the victory and claiming 19 wickets in the series to finish as the leading wicket-taker.
The victory ends a decades-long drought for West Indies in Pakistan, with their last Test series in the country dating back to 2006.
