Nikola Jokic delivered a masterclass performance, including a remarkable 66-foot three-pointer, as the Denver Nuggets triumphed over the Sacramento Kings 132-123 on Tuesday.
The Serbian center recorded his fifth consecutive triple-double, amassing 35 points, 22 rebounds, and a season-high 17 assists. His standout performance places him in elite company, joining NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in league history to achieve 35 points, 20 rebounds, and 15 assists in a single game.
Jokic’s jaw-dropping three-pointer came with just 1.7 seconds left in the third quarter. From beyond half-court, he launched the ball, which sailed through the hoop to extend Denver’s lead to 110-85. Despite the extraordinary feat, Jokic remained humble, calling it “a lucky shot.”
“When you play, you want to make every shot,” Jokic said postgame. “It’s not a high-percentage shot, but I took it to make it, and it’s three points that help us.”
