Egyptian football giants, Al Ahly, are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho as they seek a replacement for South African star Percy Tau.

Iheanacho, who joined La Liga side Sevilla on a free transfer less than six months ago, is pushing for an exit after a disappointing stint with the Spanish club. The 28-year-old has struggled to make an impact, recording no goals or assists in nine league appearances under manager Marco Baroni.

The Nigerian forward has attracted interest from clubs in England, Greece, Turkey, and the USA, but Al Ahly have now emerged as serious contenders for his signature, according to Express.

Sevilla is reportedly open to allowing Iheanacho to leave on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

With Al Ahly looking to bolster their attack, Iheanacho’s arrival could fill the void left by Percy Tau, who has been linked with a potential move away from the Egyptian club.

As the January transfer window progresses, negotiations are expected to intensify for the former Premier League striker’s services.
