The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has extended its heartfelt condolences to Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali following the tragic loss of his mother.

Nwabali, 28, shared the news of his mother’s passing on Wednesday, marking a devastating blow for the footballer, who also lost his father just two months ago. His father passed away in November 2024 while Nwabali was away on international duty with the Super Eagles.

In a message of support shared on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the NFF expressed solidarity with the grieving player.

“Our heartfelt condolences to Stanley Nwabali on the loss of his mother. Stay strong, Stanley. Sending you strength and support during this difficult time. You are not alone; we are all with you,” the statement read.

The football community has rallied around the goalkeeper, offering messages of encouragement during this challenging period.

Meanwhile, the Sports Journalists Forum has launched an Empowerment Initiative aimed at supporting its members, with a notable cash reward scheme introduced as part of the program.
