1500 youths begin MTN CHAMPS contest in Jos

About 1500 young athletes from 153 schools are set to compete for glory in MTN CHAMPS, Jos from Tuesday, 23rd to Friday 26th April 2024 at the New Jos Stadium in Plateau State.

In a media statement made available to the public through the Making of Champions Media Officer, Mrs. Yemi Olus-Galadima indicates that 69 participants are from Secondary Schools and 84 from Junior/Senior teams.

A Press Conference was held on Monday, 22nd April 2024 as a buildup for the Jos athletics competition organized to harvest budding track and field champions for Nigeria.

The MTN CHAMPS media promotional event had several dignitaries in attendance such as Maram Isaac, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education (Secondary); Barr. Rebecca Shaseet, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports; Prof. Ezra Gunen, Director of Sports, Plateau State; Emamoke Ogoro.

Others included General Manager, Brand, and Communication, MTN; David Bot Danboyi, Representative of the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF), Rita Mosindi, AFN Secretary General, and Deji Ogeyingbo, Country Manager, Making of Champions.
